The purpose of Bob is to reduce plastic body wash bottle waste.
A key design and development priority for the Bob product was to ensure that the product itself would last for a minimum of five years.

Through all of our development and testing phases we have ensured that each iteration of the Bob product design can sustain 1,825 washes (1 shower a day x 365 days = 365 washes per year. 365 washes per year x 5 years = 1,825)

Each Bob bar is 30g (a standard bar of soap is 90g). Through all of our testing, a single Bob bar will last between 10-15 washes (depending on skin type, amount of hair, size of man, and length of wash). 

Each order will include a minimum of three Bob bars, to provide just the right amount of washing each month.

We are currently unable to give a full list of our ingredients as our formulation is under it's final stability testing.

However rest assured that our ingredients formula follows the rules listed below, and we will be releasing the full ingredients list as soon as possible.

Our unique formulation has taken over 8 months to develop, using ingredients that are great for both the body and the planet. Many scents include ingredients that are not good for the body or the planet and so the development process takes time to ensure that any scents we launch in the future match our claims.

As a result of this we are only launching ‘the Gentleman’ scent with our pre-orders. This scent and formulation has been stability tested.

We are already working behind the curtain to develop a range of scents from light, citrus and fresh to deep, premium and manly.

Absolutely yes! Bob has been designed specifically to work both in the home, and travel with you to every shower you go to. Whether at work, in the gym, in a hotel, or travelling abroad, Bob has been designed to fit in your washbag, your kitbag and your hand luggage.

The problems with liquid body wash fall into three parts; Plastic waste, liquid waste and harsh ingredients.

In the US alone there are over 1.4 billion plastic body wash bottles thrown away every single year, which equates to 1 kg of plastic waste for the average man. Over a 5 year period this amounts to 5 kg of plastic waste. But plastic waste is not the only problem that we are trying to address.

When reviewing the male body wash market there are two types of product available for men to wash with, liquid body wash and bar soap.

Did you know that most market leading liquid body wash is made of up to 70% water. That leaves only 30% of body wash to clean yourself with, not to mention the environmental impact this can have from a water wastage point of view.

A secondary part of wastage is leaky body wash bottles. It is estimated that 20-50% of body wash is lost down the drain as a result of falling out of hands and through fingertips. This estimate does not include the loss of body wash when a bottle leaks in your kit bag, your wash bag, or even your holiday bag (we’ve all been there).

Have you ever checked the back of the bottle? Most market leading body wash bottles will include ingredients such as Sodium Laureth Sulfate, SLES, Cocomidopropyl Betaine, Dioxane, Tetrasodium EDTA and Triclosan to name a few. In short, these ingredients contain toxins that are both bad for your body and the planet.

As three ordinary men who shower daily, we got so frustrated with all of these problems that we decided it was time to revolutionise the men’s body wash industry, launch a business called Welcome to Bob Ltd, and develop a sustainable and refillable body wash that men love and want to use daily.

Once we fully launch Bob to market, we will be offering a monthly soapscription service, meaning Bob will be delivered right to your shower door. Well front door, as you might get a little fright if the post woman or man were to deliver your Bob refills right to your shower door.
